My Story
When my 15 year marriage came to a sudden and shocking end, my life was turned upside-down. For the very first time I had to look after our log cabin and property all by myself. There were so many times I wanted to sell. When the snow made our long, winding driveway impassable for months. When the memories of my marriage made the walls feel like they were closing in.
More than that, I was confronted with myself and the life I had lived so far. I sensed there were so many dreams and avenues I had left unexplored. With the support of loved ones, and my own tenacity, I began to approach this new chapter of my life as an opportunity. An opportunity to grow, to travel, to reconnect with myself.
After one fateful conversation with a former student, I attended my first Burning Man event in 2018. For a period of seven years, I became a first-hand participant in the Burning Man culture, attending local burns on the East Coast and burner-sponsored events in the Washington D.C area, as well as traveling to Black Rock City, Nevada two years in a row for the Big Burn (You can learn more about my adventures and how they changed me at my upcoming one-woman show “From Breastfeeding to Burning Man”!).
I was so inspired by the culture that later in 2018 I decided to go back to college to study acting; a dream I have held since childhood!
Then, when I got a shamanic healing in December 2019, the healer (whom I also met through the Burner community) told me that she saw me surrounded in the future by “kids.” This ultimately came to fruition when my son Jeremy expressed that his pandemic wish was to raise farm animals.
Thus was born Goat Milk Revolution – a dairy goat farm and educational outreach center. Since then, we have expanded to include petting zoos, goat yoga, and even a summer camp program for kids. Ultimately, our goal is to educate, connect, and inspire others towards a more thoughtful, sustainable, and compassionate way of living.
I continue to pursue new and interesting paths, and my dream is to show others that it’s never too late to be who you want to be and you can always write a new ending!
